The Rocking Horse Place is a leading manufacturer and restorer of hand carved rocking horses in New Zealand. Our products include stylish locally designed horses using modern materials, more traditional English designs and a range of exciting Wild Ones including the popular rocking dragons and lions. All of which are lovingly crafted by hand from durable quality timber. All our rocking horses are fitted with glass eyes, leather saddle and bridle and horse hair mane and tail. We also have a carved mane option.

In a world cluttered with mass produced plastic toys it is heart warming that skilled craftsmen still exist that can make simple and elegant wooden toys that children can cherish for generations. The Rocking Horse Place makes the most exquisite Dragon Rocking Horse which my son cherishes daily!!
As Peregrine was delivered not too far from Christmas we decided to hide him until then. Harris was so thrilled with Peregrine when we unveiled him! He enjoys riding him with our help & no doubt there will be many joyful times ahead as Harris grows and can ride by himself. When Shona delivered our beautiful rocking horse to our door, we stood back in awe it was amazing, we could not believe the detail and workmanship involved to produce an exact replica of our beloved horse.We had accessories made to the exact miniature version of his own Tack he used when eventing, even a white sheepskin saddle blanket was carefully placed under his saddle.
Communication was very professional, photos and intricate details of our request were given to Shona, then The Rocking Horse Place made it happen.
It is a piece of furniture greatly admired, as well as, used by children and adults alike.
